Tracy Ellen Kamens, Ed.D., DWS, CWE

Grand Cru Classes provides fun and informative wine classes and tasting events for personal and corporate clients. With expertise in all facets of wine from wine appreciation and wine regions to food and wine pairing principles and cheese production, we can open up these worlds to you.

Join us in our beautiful tasting classroom in the heart of Long Island’s wine region or let us come to your home, place of business or other chosen venue.

Believing that wine is always fun, we want to make learning about wine an entertaining and enjoyable experience as you "learn about wine, one glass at a time."

As CEO (Chief Education Officer), Tracy adores wine and loves to teach. So much so that when the idea to combine her love of teaching with her passion for wine presented itself, she jumped at the opportunity.

Over the past several years, Tracy Ellen has pursued wine studies in earnest to provide herself with a solid foundation in wine knowledge. She then uses her vast experience in education and professional development to craft classes and events that educate as well as entertain.

She is a self-professed wine geek, but is not a wine snob. In fact, she is an equal opportunity drinker, ferreting out wonderful wines at all price points. However, she does draw the line at anything out of a jug.

While she promises to make wine more approachable for consumers, she is proud of her wine credentials, which include the Certified Wine Educator credential from the Society of Wine Educators, Wine & Spirits Education Trust’s Diploma of Wine & Spirits (with Merit) and its Intermediate and Advanced Certificates (both with distinction), the International Bordeaux Instructor title from L’Ecole du Vin de Bordeaux. In addition, she has completed the Napa Valley Vintners’ Wine Educators Academy as well as the Wine Australia USA AusWISE program.

A published wine journalist, Tracy holds degrees from Cornell University and UPenn.

    Wine Educators Ltd.

Available Anywhere in Northern California/Nevada. G.M. “Pooch” Pucilowski is a dynamic and exciting speaker and his enthusiasm for wine is balanced by his 30+ years of teaching and educating both consumers and members of the trade. He has learned that most people perceived wine “as too complicated.” Pooch breaks down the “complications” of wine into easily understandable segments. He knows what is important and what is hype. Any “consumer” will get the facts they need to know to make an informed decision about how to taste wine and which wines to buy. Who is this for: Meeting Planners, Convention Coordinators, Change of Pace Programs, Spousal Programs, Doctor Incentives, Investment groups, restaurants, retail stores, business clients, sales meetings, employee incentive programs, employee camaraderie and oh, did we mention - consumers? These tastings/seminars (done with or without wine) are for groups from 20 to 500 participants. All seminars include a complete outline for note taking. Samples of some of the presentations available (from 20 minutes to 3 hours): 1. How to Evaluate Wines Like a Wine Judge! This is Pooch's most popular seminar. It goes into the details of how to smell, taste and view wine. 2. Questions and Answers. Everything you wanted to know about wine but couldn't remember the question. No worries! Pooch provides a complete list of 100+ questions that will get your group started. It's fun, entertaining and educational! 3. Three to Six-Course meals and the wines that will “marry.” 4. Using Jelly Belly's and Smelling Kits to help you taste wines better. 5. How to Sip, Sample, Savor, Swirl, Sniff, Slurp, Smell and Spit. 6. Wine Bottle Shapes and what they can tell you about how the wine will taste. 7. Tours and meals (via bus/limo) to California's Wine Country for the day, afternoon or the week.
