| You gotta go to: Gotta Dance!
Many of life’s most marvelous and memorable occasions – birthdays or weddings or a party simply for a party’s sake – include three indispensable ingredients: wine, music…and dancing! Cal Phil’s season finale celebration, Gotta Dance!, on Saturday evening, September 6, at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden, is no exception.
The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with live jazz and picnicking. Bring your own fare…or let Cal Phil provide it for you! Selections include everything from barbecued chicken and sandwiches to smoked gouda mac-n-cheese and Maryland blue crab cakes, plus much, much more. To learn more and start your taste buds singing, visit www.calphil.org/concerts/festival_dining.asp.
At Cal Phil Festival on the Green, you’ll also have ample opportunity to savor your favorite wines – both before and during our great performances. Master Sommelier Russ Meek, wine curator at the award-winning jazz club and restaurant redwhite+bluezz, has selected a medley of great wines especially suited for sipping under the stars.
Meanwhile, Cal Phil’s own “Master Music Maker,” Maestro Victor Vener, will treat you to a performance as memorable as the food and wine. Toe-tapping tunes that will have you out of your seat and dancing on the green include top ten hits by The Beatles and The Mamas and The Papas as well as immortal waltzes like Strauss’ Blue Danube. And, of course, Gotta Dance! has gotta include standards from the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
Summer may be ending…but, with help from Cal Phil and its unparalleled maestro, the incomparable Dr.Victor Vener, we’ll cherish its memories forever.
