You are correct! Wine Quiz Answer: A. Spain
Grenache is the world's most widely planted red wine grape. The bulk of its area remains concentrated in its native Spain, where it is known as Garnacha, or Garnaxta in Catalonia. Grenache's appeal to farmers is its uncommon ability to produce prodigious crops without sacrificing the sugar content so essential in winemaking. Yet, like so many "workhorse" grapes, Grenache is capable of making superb wines when its tendency to overcrop is restrained through pruning or environmental conditions.
